Planet of the Apes Marathon

August 1st, 2011

Yesterday I went to see all 5 of the original Planet of the Apes films on the big screen thanks to Exhumed Films and my good friends Brad and Gabe. Thankfully today, I was sent this little gem:

I also had some awesome pizza:

Alice in Wonderland in 3D

Alice in Wonderland in 3D Movie Poster

I saw the midnight showing with some friends, and it was an enjoyable movie.  Very little of the 3D felt forced, as in them throwing the 3D right at you, besides that it felt well done and appropriate.  The Mad Hatter came off a little strong and at times, made me realize it was Johnny Depp, and for a few cases, reminded me of Jack Sparrow.  All in all a great story, well done visuals, and believable.
My Rating: ★★½

Okay, My Cousin Erik and I have been trying to hang out for some time, and we finally were able to. He came down from Central PA and we met at my house Sunday night (12-27-2009). He was playing Afro Samurai while I tried to get a game of Left 4 Dead 2 going. The first video is from the next day. We went to Sonic on the was to my School to try to get me signed up for next semester, however they were closed. So we went to the Dover Mall. From there we headed to my Dad’s. We stopped at a Valero on the way and found a whopping 7 Diet Mountain Dew Ultra Violet. Yes, I bought them all. We then had dinner with my Dad and his Girlfriend Mary. Dinner is pictured. I am glad to say I live in Delaware where scrapple is easily found. Erik played with Lefty, see video. We then went back to the house and played more video games. On Tuesday, Erik’s final day, we decided to go see Avatar with his brother Bobby:

I liked the movie (in 3D) and felt it had stunning visuals. Overall I give it Rating: ★★½.  It did however have some hokeyness to it. There was a point where the bad guy, can’t remember his name, is giving a speech near the end, and I hear this sound, I thought it was the wings of that one real large flying creature on the other side of the glass, but was wrong. It threw me off for once.

We then went to the Golden Castle Diner with our Grandparents. On the way to dropping Erik and Bobby off to our Grandparents house we saw that there was an out letter giving us Charcoal Pi! Yes, Charcoal Π. Once again I had my Camera on Video. Anyway, I decide to get some groceries and head home. While in Super Giant, Ethan calls me up and invites me to see the Sherlock Holmes movie. After some back and forth, I decide to go. I beat him there by some time. Take a random shot, play some DDR until out of breath. As long as it has been since I played last, it did not take long. When Ethan and Katie arrived, I challenged him, and I am pretty sure I won. We then went in, talked, and enjoyed the feature film:

I found this to be a very good movie. About what I was expecting. I liked the clothing style, as it edges on Steam Punk. I also appreciated some of the explaining in the films. Also, I am not sure if others thought this, but I did suspect the bum early on to be Sherlock Holmes before they showed it. I give it also a Rating: ★★½.

I saw The Hangover last night with Amanda.  Love it.  I give it a 3 out of 3.  Great storyline (for the most part) and great cameos.

Liked it, surprised by the ending, but could read (into the future on) a few parts as there were hints throughout the movie.  Stay through the credits, for a few minutes.  My Rating: ★★☆

Wall-E

July 6th, 2008

Wall-E, I loved this movie, but could not give it a perfect 3 though.  It seemed as though something was missing for me.  The movie was vast.  Neither I nor anyone that I went with caught what the E stood for though.  My Rating: ★★½

In an effort to get caught up with movies Amanda and I saw about 4 in a two week period, heres the first. Great movie with a very good message behind it. nothing after the credits though. I called 2 things before they happened, go me. My Rating: ★★½

This past Tuesday I finally got to see this Movie with my Dad, as he was a fan of the original series.  I think he liked it as did I.  It had some aspects I did not like.  Looked like a lot of CGI in the beginning.  But overall a good move.  It earns a solid Rating: ★★☆.
